I’m J.J., a multidisciplinary artist driven by curiosity, bold expression, and the belief that creativity is essential for being fully alive. Through watercolor portraits, pop-culture pieces, mixed media, and my resin skull series, I explore themes of identity, rebellion, and connection.
A Lifelong Artist With an Unapologetic Creative Voice
I’ve been an artist since I could hold a pencil, but my creative path has been anything but linear. My career has taken me from teaching art to leading product design teams, traveling the world, and ultimately returning to my first love—making art that matters.
The Creative Rebellion is my movement to inspire people to live more creatively, unapologetically, and connected to themselves. My work blends personal exploration with a touch of defiance against the idea that art should “fit in.” It’s about creating from the soul and letting the work speak for itself.

My work spans mediums and moods—delicate watercolor pet portraits, soulful people portraits, bold pop-culture homages, abstract explorations, and hand-crafted resin skulls. No matter the material or style, each piece is rooted in a deep curiosity about people and the stories they carry.
Portraiture, in particular, has my heart. I love capturing not just a likeness, but the subtle details—the glance, the posture, the quiet energy—that reveal who someone is beneath the surface. Whether it’s the loyal gaze of a beloved pet, the vibrancy of a personality in full bloom, or the essence of a cultural icon, portraiture lets me explore humanity in all its complexity.
Some works emerge from observation, others from imagination, but all share the same goal: to connect. To spark recognition, emotion, or a moment of reflection in the viewer.

WHY I CREATE
I create to connect—with myself, with others, and with the deeper truths that can’t be put into words. My process is intuitive: I follow curiosity, experiment with materials, and allow the work to lead me. Some days it’s about precision and detail. Other days it’s about letting go and embracing chaos.
Art has been my greatest teacher, showing me that creation is as much about who you become in the process as it is about the final piece.
